Tomorrow, 13 January 2025, the Full Moon will reach its peak in the sign of Cancer at 11:26 PM (GMT+1). This Wolf Moon invites us to dive deep into the mystical, creative waters of our energetic womb space. This energy offers us the opportunity to reconnect with ourselves and consciously embrace and express our soul's purpose.
What is a Wolf Moon?
The Wolf Moon derives its name from the time of year when wolves traditionally howled to mark their territory and call their pack together. This moon symbolises inner strength, instinct and connection with nature. Its energy encourages us to turn inward, follow our intuition and release old patterns.
With the lunar nodes shifting into Pisces (North Node) and Virgo (South Node), we are invited over the next 18 months to focus on our soul’s desires and how we can creatively express them.
Lunar nodes are imaginary points where the moon’s orbit crosses the ecliptic, guiding our spiritual growth. The North Node in Pisces leads us inward, while the South Node in Virgo encourages us to let go of perfectionism and surrender to our intuition.
Following my own path as a Priestess of Avalon, I wish to honour this special Wolf Moon with a cleansing and blessing ceremony dedicated to the Goddess North, also known as the Goddess of Air, and her Morgen Tyronoe.
For this ceremony, I will use a self-made smudge fan with pheasant feathers, my handmade incense, my rattle from The Land of Är, and the symbol I received through meditation in Avalon. I will keep this powerful symbol to myself for now, but I look forward to sharing the associated meditation with you soon in one of my live sessions.
The Goddess of Air & Morgen Tyronoe
The Goddess of Air represents clarity, communication and intellect. She symbolises freedom of thought and the release of limitations. She is also known as the Goddess North. Snow and hibernation are more than familiar to her. She is the eldest of the Sisters, the most fragile—or so it seems. But do not underestimate her power.
Her Morgen Tyronoe is the first breath of the day, a fresh breeze that brings new possibilities and clears away stagnant energy. She invites us to trust the whispers of the wind, the messages carried through the air, and to cleanse our thoughts to make space for inspiration and intuitive insights.
Cleansing & Blessing Ceremony for the Wolf Moon
Preparation
Find a quiet space where you will not be disturbed. You may light a candle on your altar or in the room. Ensure you feel comfortable. Set up your smudge fan, incense and any additional items you need. Breathe deeply to ground yourself, imagining your energy rooting deep into the earth.Cleansing
Light your handmade incense and gently smudge the smoke around your body using your smudge fan. Visualise the smoke helping you release old energies and ideas, creating space for new insights.Invoking the Goddess North
Reflect on the power of the air and softly speak an intention to invite the Goddess North and Morgen Tyronoe into your space. Feel the crisp, clear energy of the air enveloping you and your surroundings.Use of the rattle, drum or your own hands
I take the rattle from The Land of Är and move it rhythmically to stir energy. You can also use a drum or another instrument. If you don’t have one, use your hands to clap rhythmically. Let the vibrations reach deep into your belly, your sacral chakra or your womb space.Setting Intentions
Close your eyes and place your hands over your womb, belly, or sacral chakra. Ask your intuition to guide you. Trust the gentle movement and quiet voice of your body to reveal the answers you seek.Closing
Thank the Goddess North and Morgen Tyronoe for their presence and wish them well in their temple. Make sure the incense is not burning anymore and finish with a few deep breaths.
This ceremony helps you release old energies and create space for new insights, love and creativity. In the two weeks leading up to the New Moon on 29 January, this energy invites you to connect daily with your intuition and creative power.
Since the beginning of the season of the Goddess North, with Yule, I have deeply felt the need to hibernate. My body asked (and still asks) for rest, while daily life demanded much from me. Only after Christmas did I find the space to truly unwind. My intention for this year is to listen more closely to my body and, where possible, live more in tune with the natural seasons. This is not always easy, but every step in this direction brings us closer to ourselves.
To strengthen this intention, I will also take time next weekend for a long walk in the forests of Limburg, Belgium. Nature helps me to connect more deeply with myself and the energies of the season.
I wish you a magical Wolf Moon filled with love, insight, and peace. I look forward to hearing your experiences.
